She holds a bachelor's (2001), master's (2004), and Ph.D. (2007) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where she also completed a postdoctoral fellowship (2008–2009). She is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of the Federal University of Uberlândia. She has experience in phase equilibrium of protein-containing solutions and in bioprocess engineering, with an emphasis on downstream processing for the recovery and purification of bioproducts. She is also currently working on biodiesel production under supercritical conditions and on supercritical fluid extraction.
